You need the driver only if you are developing on Windows and want to connect a Samsung Android device to your development environment over USB. By installing these drivers, you will be able to connect your mobile or tablet to your computer to transfer files on both sides, while dispensing with Mi PC Suite. If the USB drivers are not installed, the computer will not detect the device and when you connect it, it will be prompted to extract the drivers.
If you are on an Android device please remember to active the Media Device option on your phone or tablet. Go to Setting > Storage > Options (upper right corner) > USB computer connection > and select the Media device (MTP) option. When you connect your Android device via USB to your PC, you should be able to see all the folders on your device.
